LMH Christen Jesus into Div 1

Preseason had taken its toll on LMH as they turned up with 10 players against recently relegated Jesus. The 10 held strong, though, for the first 30 minutes and their quality was such that they took the lead. Simon Lewis found the ball at his feet in the 6 yard box after a long free kick and managed to toe poke it past the keeper for the opening goal of the season.
A few minutes after the goal LMH were able to bring their 11th player on to sure up the midfield. Jesus put LMH under severe pressure with good passing football but the LMH defence, containing two freshers; Rex Worth and Billy Henson, stood firm. On the break LMH sought the pace and stamina of debutant Rohland Chapman as an outlet, whose contribution to LMH in the 1st half was essential.
The second half started slowly with Will ‘gay chat’ Partridge finding time to compliment the Jesus forward on his shorts. LMH soon burst into life as Jim Allchin sped past a couple of defenders and finished confidently from a tight angle. A great result was completed by Roy Wheeler, who cooly finished a one-on-one after Adam Junior had set him free.
A perfect start for LMH and a great result considering the number of absent players.
